Job Description

The Team:

This team synthesizes and maintains data across a wide variety of sources to formulate a strategic lens into our performance and drive go-to-market actions. They maintain and deliver industry, channel, and consumer data across brand and segments to the rest of the enterprise. The team enables insights through self-service tools to enable analyst communities. They develop custom trackers, leverage syndicated tracking data, and continually work to optimize our internal research data needs, insights, maintenance, and modeling across the organization. The team uses data modeling / storytelling to understand and contextualize the overall market, competitive brand health, and consumer mindset. They provide thought leadership, robust analytics, and business insights that maximize the value generated from marketing investments.

The Role:

This role reports to the Director of Consumer Market Insights - Data Science and is responsible for leading a team of business analysts, insights managers, and data scientists. You must thrive on the challenges inherent in dissecting complex problems, utilizing facts/data to derive a conclusion, and deliver clear recommendations to improve results. You work collaboratively across organizations providing guidance and assessing business impact. Must have experience influencing business decisions through story-driven, visually compelling presentations while communicating advanced analytic methods in an easy-to-understand fashion.

This role favors the extremely analytical and will generally touch on all traditional cornerstones of marketing: pricing, products, promotion, and distribution placement with specific roles and assignments going deep into any one or all these areas. This person must be comfortable owning and managing large data sets requiring a passion for best practices and application of data modeling.

What you'll do in your role.

  • Leads a team in transforming, synthesizing, contextualizing, and socializing wireless and telecom industry data and signals

  • Through robust strategic frameworks, develop a deep understanding of industry, company, and customer value drivers to create actionable insights and improve, reengineer, or maintain offer and commercial performance

  • Leverage deep understanding of business drivers to develop meaningful, actionable metrics to inform and steer performance

  • Combine large, disparate data sets to design reports (in Tableau or similar data visualization tools) that drive actionable insights related to competitive positioning and performance

  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted consultant to set expectations and run scenarios for leadership around market size, industry growth drivers, TMUS market share goals

  • Uses engaging and impactful storytelling to communicate insights culled from integrated data sets, multiple sources, and prior marketing and research experience

  • Develops and coaches research professionals to ensure each member acquires appropriate skills and project-based experiences to foster ongoing, professional development

The experience you'll bring.

  • 10+ years in marketing analysis, marketing research, business strategy, data science / analytics

  • Bachelor's Degree with quantitative concentration (finance, engineering, economics, statistics)

  • MBA or professional equivalent preferred

  • Expert knowledge of statistics and their application in quantitative research methods

  • Deep understanding of research instruments, data sources, and suppliers

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines -fully vaccinated- as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
