ECPI University is seeking an experienced security professional to develop and oversee Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certification courses. Responsibilities of this role include oversight of instruction, curriculum, student success, expenses, enforcement of policies and procedures, scheduling of classes, and regulatory standards in order to maintain high-quality training.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Administer course schedule based on needs of prospective students and utilization of ECPI campuses outside of the Hampton Roads area as appropriate.
Recruit, train, and monitor instructors involved in teaching DCJS certification courses.
Contribute to the institution's commitment to student retention and success through close monitoring of student learning and outcomes.
Ensure training aids and tools are in working order and request upgrades as needed to support/enhance student learning.
Participate in the development of online course content to supplement in-seat instruction.
Pro-actively identify areas of opportunity to improve program quality through curriculum revisions, identification of new learning resources, and relationship building with industry partners.
Classroom teaching as assigned.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
7 or more years of progressively responsible industry experience.
Currently credentialed as DCJS instructor.
2-3 years' experience as a trainer within the security field.
Previous academic management experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication
Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels
Strong time management skills and detail-orientation
Working knowledge of computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new computer software
Experience with distance learning or learning management systems (LMS) preferred
