Summary The Supervisory Store Associate serves in a developmental capacity as the first line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. This position is designed to give the incumbent the necessary training and work experience to develop to the full performance target level of Supervisory Store Associate, GS-1101-07, in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. Responsibilities Position responsibilities include: Directs the following work in a commissary: Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. Non-perishable stock control including transporting items and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection, display and rotation. Account maintenance, supply and computer operations Physical requirements: Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, carry and handle commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance and over 40 pounds with assistance. Work includes long periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing. Overtime: Occasionally Fair Labor Standards Act: Exempt Covered by Bargaining Unit: No Positions will be filled under the DoD DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) and are subject to the restrictions of the DoD referral system for displaced employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must possess One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at the GS-05 or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
