The Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership, program development and coordination of patient and caregiver education and support programs. Acts as a primary liaison between the Cancer Center operations team and key community and internal partners. In conjunction with various internal counterparts coordinates community outreach programs, including screening and health promotion activities and survivorship event planning and program development. This position requires the knowledge of and ability to research evidence-based practices for cancer prevention and screening activities, and to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations about areas of focus for outreach efforts. The position includes working with providers and staff to assess program development needs. The position also coordinates the patient support programming and the cancer center volunteer program (in conjunction with the SJMC guest services director). In addition, this position will be responsible for clinical social worker responsibilities in the cancer center including assisting patients with financial and emotional distress secondary to their cancer diagnosis; identification of community resources and participation with quality improvement activities.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public health, communications, public relations or health related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's degree in Social Work.
Work Experience:Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
No certification/licensure required. Preference will be given to candidates with a LSW, LGSW, or LICSW.
