The Senior Manager of Visual Communications establishes strategic direction for the Aeronautics creative team, including photo, video and graphic design, to ensure their efforts align to corporate strategies and Aeronautics key business objectives. Must be a strategic thinker with broad experience in visual communications disciplines and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish the Aeronautics Visual Communications strategy and vision that aligns with the overarching enterprise Visual Communications and Aeronautics Communications strategies. Break down the vision into specific, measurable goals and objectives.
- Communicate the vision and goals to all stakeholders, ensuring everyone understands the direction and their role in achieving it. Use various communication channels and methods to reach different audiences.
- Demonstrate commitment to the vision through actions and decisions. Be a role model for the behaviors and values that align with the vision by serving as a leader of leaders, responsible for managing, coaching, and developing leaders, ensuring they are aligned to the company and corporate strategy, developing strategic thinkers/trusted advisors and growing their leadership teams in a consistent manner.
- Adopt a OneLM mindset for integration, collaboration and impact.
- Position Visual Communications for the future, by proactively assessing the organization for enterprise alignment and optimization, leveraging data in decision making.
- Positively lead the team through change, as we evolve as an enterprise Visual Communications organization and introduce new operating models, tools, and technologies.
- Lead Creative Directors, ensuring we are effectively organized and collaborating across the enterprise in support of the internal agency operating model.
- Demonstrate a OneTeam mindset, collaborating with Marketing Communications leadership to provide consistent, strategic brand presence and storytelling strategies/tactics that support key business objectives.
- Partner with Aeronautics Communications SLT to optimize Visual Communications support for LOBs and functions. Collaborate with other Communications leadership to ensure full understanding of strategic priorities and challenges to ensure we are providing best-in-class creative solutions.
- Lead the Visual Communications function, engaging with employees at all sites and providing resources for innovation and guidance in the creation and execution of creative campaigns. Drive integration and collaboration between the creative disciplines at all Aeronautics sites and across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with Visual Communications senior leadership to ensure alignment to enterprise strategic priorities, including technology exploration/implementation to ensure we can support the emerging needs of our key stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce standards for quality, on-time delivery, consistency, effectiveness, and brand alignment.
- Provide prudent fiscal planning and oversight, meeting all Visual Communications budgetary requirements, including DCI, headcount, training, travel, hardware/software, employee engagement, etc., making strategic decisions at the organizational level.
- Assess and report Visual Communications metrics and evaluate emerging trends and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in a leadership position within Visual Communications
- Experience leading a virtual team
- Background working in a cross function environment
- Experience in Visual Communications
disciplines including one or more of the
following: 3D, animation, graphic design,
photography, videography and/or web
design/development
- Ability to manage a multi-faceted budget
- A track record of creating and implementing creative
solutions
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of the defense/aerospace business
sector
- Familiarity with digital asset management tools

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $114,900 - $220,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $132,200 - $248,900. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
