Job Description

Principal RFIC Engineer at SpaceX

Redmond, WA, United States

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

PRINCIPAL RFIC/ANALOG DESIGN ENGINEER (STARLINK)

Would you like to become part of the team developing silicon for Starlink's low earth orbit satellites that deliver broadband connectivity to the people who either do not have access to internet or have inconsistent connectivity? Come join the team working on multiple silicon projects that are driving more integration, lower power, mixed signal architectures and advanced silicon technology for deployment in space and ground infrastructures.

We are looking for an RFIC/analog design engineer to support development for upcoming projects. This team works in a cutting-edge environment to design chips used on future generation phased array antennas utilizing advanced beamforming techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-mode circuits and systems

  • Derive specifications for the RFIC subsystems and circuits

  • Develop analog/mixed-mode/RF/microwave circuits in state of the art SiGe or CMOS processes

  • Work with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers to partition functions between hardware and software domains

  • Perform IC floor planning and layout

  • Model package and external parasitic components

  • Evaluate and characterize prototypes of the design

  • Characterize and analyze full radio performance

  • Assist in the development of automated test lab equipment for lab measurements

  • Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification of the RFIC components and systems
