Summary

Under the general supervision of the Manager or Director, Supply Chain the incumbent is the first level supervisory support to the assigned site with an emphasis on operational workflow and staff resource management while supporting departmental operational improvement and supply expense cost and savings management through building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams, representing Supply Chain in various committees and meetings, supporting conversion efforts, and regular supply utilization analysis. Incumbent will serve as a primary liaison and contact for the consolidated supply chain functions and has supervisory responsibility for human resource personnel management outcomes and productivity and for meeting Supply Chain measures of success related to spend/inventory/HR/customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervises daily activities of the Supply Chain department or work groups at assigned site, including, but not limited to, coordinating resource work flow and assisting in technician duties as necessary; leading or participating in market hospital and department level process improvement initiatives; achieving ongoing compliance with all regulatory and accreditation criteria; performing regular supply utilization analysis and overseeing stocking levels across their scope of work.

  • Assists Manager/Director in meeting departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and actively participates in efforts to discover cost savings opportunities / devise implementation plans.

  • Assists in driving organization toward committed contract compliance thru direct engagement with physicians and other key stakeholders and actively supports the Clinical Integration Program.

  • Fosters an environment designed around customer service; Develops subordinate team members in customer-focused service delivery; Advances a collaborative culture between Supply Chain and Nursing/Ancillary departments.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact of BSMH Consolidated Supply Chain services to insure supply chain services are meeting end user requirements and local facilities are compliant with Supply Chain policies and procedures.

  • Manages time and labor applications and work schedules with the goal of meeting the facility productivity metrics.

  • Supervises key department personnel, including, but not limited to, minimizes staff turnover through continuous staff rounding and engagement, responds proactively to employee needs and concerns; manages personnel conflicts, directs employee continuing education and job competency training plans.

  • Regularly inspects workplace for safety concerns and remedies issues discovered

  • Investigates applicability of product recalls and pulls affected equipment / supplies

  • Leads annual physical inventory management

  • Attends/Leads meetings and committees in absence of senior leaders as needed

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Employment Qualifications

Education Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree

Specialty/Major: Business, Supply Chain, or HCA

Licensing/ Certification

Licensure/Certification Preferred

  • Certified Materials and Resources Professional (CMRP)

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Years and Type of Experience

1 years' experience in supply chain operations or 1 year general management experience

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Demonstrates ability to lead thru period of change - leads department positively

  • Demonstrates objectivity in decision making and fact based analysis

  • Demonstrates cooperative management style that eliminates boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service

  • Communicates effectively with all levels in the organization

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

  • 2 years' experience in medical supply chain management
