Tax Manager
T-Mobile is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Tax team and lead our external State tax policy advocacy efforts. This position will report Sr. Manager, Tax External Tax Policy and will work with T-Mobile's Tax and Legislative Affairs teams, plus external advisors and key State Tax Policy organizations. This position will be required to travel regularly to meet with internal constituents, legislators and their staffs, policy organizations, administrators, attend conferences, etc.
What you'll do in your role.
Identify and monitor significant legislation for T-Mobile, including coordinating efforts with the Legislative Affairs team
Evaluate the impact of state tax legislation on T-Mobile and keep relevant leadership informed of impact and progress
Represent T-Mobile in key tax policy organizations
Prepare talking points for company leadership and/or external advisors
Drafting and/or editing legislation, while working with key constituencies to build consensus to achieve legislative objectives
Coordinate as necessary with the Federal Tax Policy Team on intersectional State Tax policy matters;
Prepare and/or deliver presentation to internal or external audiences regarding key policy matters
Handle other special projects and matters as needed.
The experience you'll bring.
Bachelor's degree required in Finance or related degree.
CPA, Master's Degree and/or Legal degree preferred, but equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
5-7+ years progressive experience in state tax, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
Working knowledge in various state tax competencies including, but not limited to, income, property, excise, gross receipts, sales/use, payroll, credits/incentives.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to simplify complex legal proposals for management and present comprehensive strategic plans.
Solid cross-functional and relationship management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma or GED
T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law.
