Responsibilities Responsible for constructing promotional packages for industry, commissary staff and customers. Perform cataloging and file maintenance work for headquarters DeCA Interactive Business System (DIBS) file and regional files for promotional one-time buy items as well as seasonal items. Assist the promotion coordinator by performing liaison duties with the Industry Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) points of contact as well as manufacturer representatives for promotional pricing and file maintenance issues. Prepare regular promotional packages twice-monthly, worldwide case lot sale packages, club pack quarterly packages, numerous seasonal promotional packages, and three updates to all packages utilizing the Store Operating System (SOS) computer program. Maintain Price Look-Up (PLU) listings for all DeCA commissaries worldwide. Occasionally perform work with pricing ads and flyers when the promotions coordinator is not available. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position, by the closing date of this announcement, you must possess the following: (a) One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-06 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Using various automated promotion systems. Identifying and analyzing problems and recommending/implementing corrective measures regarding promotional packages. Compiling a variety of reports, memorandums, and checklists to develop and publish executable promotional packages. Assisting in the development of promotional packages and applying commissary operations, operating policies, procedures, and practices. Volunteer Experience: Your experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through a National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
