Description: WHAT WE'RE DOING

- Advancing the Integrated Discrimination and Electronic Protection capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS)

- Leading systems engineering trades, analysis, and studies related to requirements generation

- Developing and delivering MDS capabilities and engineering artifacts into the Technical Baseline (TBL)

- Supporting MDA's Discrimination Directorate's efforts to define and coordinate new capabilities

THE WORK

- Lead for a team that performs simulation-based end-to-end functional and performance analysis of the Missile Defense System (MDS) supporting the Systems Engineering development process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)

- Provide technical leadership for the team, perform MDS performance analyses utilizing large-scale complex MDS Modeling and Simulation tools, and extract significant conclusions from the results to support system engineering discrimination products for MDA, while leading development, updates, and benchmarking/anchoring of MDS M&S tools, as necessary to support system level analysis, discrimination tasks, and experience with electronic warfare including electromagnetic warfare

- Coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks and be responsible for team products including reports and briefings to be presented to senior NT-S and MDA representatives

Basic Qualifications:

Individual must have a technical background in Systems Engineering and Analysis including system performance analysis and numerical modeling / simulation, using high-level programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Java, FORTRAN, or a similar language environment.

Individual must have analysis experience in discrimination phenomenology, methods, and techniques. Individual must have experience in aspects of the MDS (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats).

Individual must have experience in any of the following domains: system concept trade studies, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis, EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, ICBM / hypersonic / MRM / SRM threats, detection/tracking, or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.), and experience with electronic warfare including electromagnetic warfare.

Individual must possess good communication skills and demonstrated experience leading a team of talented engineers to perform highly technical work, and communicating significant results to senior management, executives, and government personnel. Demonstrated integrated schedule task management, Individual must identify, track, and mitigate task risk. GFI management experience. CM/DM experience.

Desired Skills:

Desired qualifications include element-level experience with analysis, assessment, verification, and familiarity with MDS Performance Tier 1 Metrics (PES, DA, LAD, RSC, etc). Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems. Experience with modeling and simulation of exoatmospheric and endoatmospheric target phenomenology (e.g. Optical Signatures Code, TASAT, DELTAS, XPATCH, etc.), atmospheric effects (e.g. MODTRAN, HITRAN, etc.), long range EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, electromagnetic warfare, and directed energy.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
