If so, joining the Casual Gourmet instructor team may be the opportunity you've been preparing for all along!The Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV), College of Culinary Arts of ECPI University, offers a Casual Gourmet program designed to entertain and educate guests by way of recreational cooking classes.
Instructors are responsible for delivering quality, engaging and interactive instruction to groups of varying skill levels based on pre-approved lesson plans.

Looking for high-energy, creative chef and baking instructors with strong technical skills while promoting a positive and interactive learning environment.

Weekend and evening availability required.
Responsibilities:
Assign participants to kitchen tasks that allow everyone to gain hands-on practice and improve their cooking skills.
Supervise participants in the kitchen, encouraging proper sanitation and safety practices and gently correcting as needed.
Modify instruction, as needed, to meet the needs of the class participants while promoting a positive and interactive learning environment
Teach participants proper techniques and how to prepare a variety of dishes ranging from international to regional cuisines.
Oversee student volunteers and paid teaching assistants
Ensure the physical space is clean and organized at events end
Qualifications
Skills/Experience Required:
Formal culinary education preferred.
2-3 years of industry experience preferred.
Interested applicants must have in-depth professional experience and excellent communications skills.
Comfortable speaking in front of groups (average class size is 10-20 participants)
