The Senior Manager, Business Development IoT Wholesale is a key role combining industry expertise, strategic thinking, business development and modeling, and relationship building to drive business results for assigned market segments and accounts. This position emphasizes account management - the focus is to create accretive revenue from existing customers. The candidate will understand the market, partner with internal stakeholders to understand the needs of customers, and will develop solutions to satisfy those needs.
What you'll do in your role.
Provides leadership in the planning, design, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business development objectives. Partners with leadership to define vision, strategies, and tactics of the organization. Selects, develops, and evaluates a team of business development professionals to deliver against business strategy.
Manages a team of business development leads who cultivate and manage internal and external business relationships. Identifies relevant business opportunities from existing accounts. Engages with partners to negotiate contracts.
Builds and manages relationships with key players in the mobile industry and in related sectors - both in established and emerging segments. Works equally well with small and large firms, and is equally effective with individuals at all levels of leadership, including C-level executives. Empowers team members to work with individuals across all leadership levels.
Establishes and maintains key internal partnerships and builds trust with various stakeholders. Effectively collaborates across functional groups and teams to execute on small to large scale opportunities in a pragmatic and efficient way. Encourages and supports team members in building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
Creates new business opportunities and partners: a) identifes and analyzes market intelligence, b) evaluates key players and technologies, c) assesses customer opportunities, d) creates potential economic/financial/business models, e) makes recommendations to grow existing relationships f) provides analysis and review of current partnerships and future opportunities.
Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
The experience you'll bring.
Bachelors Degree: Business, Technology or related field
Masters/Advanced Degree: MBA (Preferred)
7 + years business development, alliance management, and/or strategic sales experience with financial/economic analysis preferably in consumer-focused wireless, high-tech (software, internet/new media, entertainment/content, etc.) or consumer electronics industries
At least 2 years direct supervision and management experience
Experience leading business case modeling for complex >$100M/year deals
Experience managing a medium/large portfolio of external partners (5-10 partners), with direct accountability for partner revenue
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma or GED
