Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

Join a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice clinicians providing exceptional patient-centered care in our growing Neurology department. This position offers variety in your practice and a strong learning environment to further enhance the skill set and focuses within our specialty team. Our driven, quality-focused, and service-oriented department currently consists of 3 Adult physicians and 1 Pediatric physician, 2 APCs(2 open APP's for a total of 4), 3 LPNs, 1 RN and 2 EEG techs.
Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8-5
Call rotation is 1:3 during clinic hours; MD back-up available
Outpatient (70%) and Inpatient (30%) coverage
Ability to partner with exceptional mentor leads in our general Neurology Department
Clinic patients include migraine, seizure, dementia, radiculopathy, neuropathy, stroke patients, Botox, occipital blocks, and trigger point injections. May also involve sleep medicine, epilepsy, MS & movement disorder.
Volumes: Inpatient 2-4 consults per day; daily rounding with back-up support to on-call neurologist on weekdays. Outpatient 10-15 patients per day
Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team player.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Background/experience in Neurology is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
Current certification in CPR.
National certification in applicable area.
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
