As a Sr. Security Automation Engineer for Vulnerability Management, you will be responsible for the creation and continuous improvement of automation to real-time sense and detect hardware, process, and human-factor failures. Create automatic alerting, and generate detailed analytics to drive business decisions. This includes automating everyday tasks performed frequently to assist in making Operations a more efficient and streamlined work group. You are a highly motivated individual with strong emotional intelligence and demonstrated experience in high growth, fast-paced organizations. You are experienced with Cloud platforms and able to automate tasks using Python creating integrations between our security tooling.

What you'll do in your role.

Responsibilities:

  • Your contributions to the Vulnerability Management team will generally focus around the empowerment of vulnerability detection capabilities, as well as guiding and being a technical resource for the less senior members of the team

  • To that end, this role will challenge you to become a true force-multiplier, assisting the team through designing and building threat centric application workflows, process automations, and the creation of intelligent data architectures for vulnerability management and telemetry collection at scale

  • Design and develop features & integrations to enable scalable vulnerability data collection, analysis, and countermeasure creation

  • Work with existing backend systems to drive REST APIs and workflows via python (flask), relying on a variety of datasources - SQL, NoSQL, and Document stores

  • Partner with other development and business teams to manage dependencies and communicate technical specifications

  • Translate engineering and operations feature requirements and/or PoC scripts and tools into full fledged features, driving process automation

  • Serve as the vulnerability management team's software engineering subject matter expert

  • Work with existing deployment infrastructure to regularly deploy releases using modern tools such as git and CI/CD (Gitlab CI, Docker, Spinnaker, Kubernetes)

  • 5+ years related industry experience

  • This position requires a hands-on, full stack development mindset, the ability to fail fast and learn faster, and a drive to execute by building ever better solutions

  • In this role, you should expect to be challenged and to be engaged in highly technical discussions

  • Strong understanding and usage of Python, SQL, NoSQL, ElasticSearch, and cloud technologies used for data manipulation at scale

  • Demonstrated full stack programming capability and desire to mature an idea or feature from pseudo-code to a minimum viable product

  • Creation of, and integration with REST APIs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience working on remote teams

  • Background or interest in vulnerability management and applied security

  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, specifically networking, databases, and tool development

  • Experience with analytics, statistics, machine learning, and large data sets

  • A Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field or equivalent work experience

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines -fully vaccinated- as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
