Randstad is seeking an experienced Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Technician for a market-leading company within the retail, commercial, and industrial refrigeration, and HVAC industries. Position located in the Virginia Beach area. This is a direct hire opportunity! Job Summary: This individual will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of commercial refrigeration equipment commonly installed and used in supermarkets, convenience stores and cold storage facilities. Qualification/Requirements: Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience and supermarket stores. Knowledge of commercial refrigeration, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical components. Working knowledge of single systems, parallel rack systems, display cases and walk-in boxes. 3-5 years' experience in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnace and electrical required.

Responsibilities
Trouble shooting rack control systems and EMS systems. Basic understanding of Variable Speed Drives and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components of a supermarket system
Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations.
Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
Provides department support by processing job tickets, work orders to the necessary department in a timely manner.
Provides necessary training to new or less qualified technicians as needed.
Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
The essential functions of this role include:
manual lifting up to 50lbs
standing for 8 hours at one time
working weekends
