Job Summary:

Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia will be following in the footsteps of our original Brooklyn location, noted as -one of the most incredible places on Earth,- by Rolling Stone. Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia is the ultimate night out, with its groundbreaking integration of premiere music, 24 lanes of bowling, 2 bars, featuring locally crafted beers, and food by the acclaimed Blue Ribbon restaurant group. Located in the heart of the historic Fishtown neighborhood, adjacent to The Fillmore and The Punchline in what has become a burgeoning entertainment district, the venue is slated to open Q4, 2021, and will be Brooklyn Bowl's fourth location.

Job Description:The Prep Cook will prepare bulk recipes from scratch, review prep recipes prior to preparation of food and follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties. They will assure that all food procedures are followed and executed properly and follow all sanitation guidelines. They are responsible for cleaning and re-stocking all areas of the operation as well as labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. The Prep Cook will undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. and prepare simple dishes. They must maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. and ensure all food and other items are stored properly. They must comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines and perform other kitchen duties as assigned while maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications:- Proven experience as a prep cook- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen- A team player with good communication skills- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure- Good physical condition and endurance will be an asset- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; military school or formal on the job training preferred- Training from a culinary school will be an asset- Listening: Prep cooks need to be able to understand specific instructions from their chefs- Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours in a stationary position over hot stoves and grills- Teamwork: Prep cooks are part of a team, and in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a team player and level-headed will help immensely- Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience required- Experience with quantity food preparation preferred- Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes- Knowledge of proper nutritional requirements- Must have a State issued Health Card- Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings- Will be pushing/pulling up to 150lbs.- Will be lifting up to 70lbs.- Good hand/eye coordination and mental alertness will be an asset- Ability to concentrate with numerous distractions
