SAIC is seeking a Platform Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to advise on a solution for DevSecOps Platform and Space C2 Enablement in support of Operational C2 Acquisition Delta priorities to deliver integrated Ops Space C2 capabilities. You will play a crucial role in providing recommendations to deliver integrated Ops Space Command and Control (C2) capabilities.
This position is based in El Segundo, CA . Support from other locations wiil be considered based on candidate qualifications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical expertise to the Infrastructure and Platform Team. This will include design, documentation, and briefings to senior leaders and stakeholders to drive stability, resiliency, scalability, and flexibility into the Space C2 systems architecture.
Move technical implementation from concerns to implementation (e.g., move to zero trust). You will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders ensuring technical decisions match future vision for scaling, mission partner interoperability, flexibility, implement a white list in a service mesh, etc.).
Implement solutions given an architect's vision, while enabling all other components to provide a holistic capability in support of the Government Program Office priorities, additional Operational C2 lines of effort (LOEs), developers, products, and end-users.
Provide expert advice to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution.
Drive innovative solutions to deliver results to the warfighters that leverage the latest in DevSecOps resources and scalable cloud and bare metal microservices to support advanced communications, tactical cloud, and secure processing.
Assist the government with transition from prototype software systems to scalable enterprise microservice enabled applications ready for operational units.
Sustain the development and refinement of acquisition strategies, as well as identify program execution issues and provide recommendations when possible.
Generate presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communication products to assist the government customer in achieving favorable program outcomes.
Perform analyses of program business cases and risk assessments. Offer actionable recommendations to the program manager.
Communicate technical strategy regarding infrastructure, platform, data, and application development to contractors, external stakeholders, program managers, and senior government leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 18 years of experience; Master's Degree and 16 years of experience; PhD and 12 years of experience with implementing large scale, highly-available, complex platform solutions.
Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Program access, as well as a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
Strong background in computer and cybersecurity.
Solid networking skills, including familiarity with protocols like SNMP, HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SAML, and TLS, along with diagnostic tools.
Programming expertise.
Knowledge of industry-standard data platforms.
Familiarity with Site Reliability practices for observability and uptime management
Experience in supporting and/or managing technical programs throughout the software engineering life cycle.
Experience designing, developing, operationalizing, implementing, and maintaining complex cloud applications at enterprise scale.
Experience using containers and container management platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Online Services, and/or Active Directory.
Must be US Citizen
Desired Experience:
Experience of setting up and leading Agile development.
Experience implementing of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools.
Experience with Confluence, JIRA and or smart sheets.
Certifications in any of the following Cloud Service Providers (CSPs): MAW, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, or Adobe Cloud.
Experience providing rapid-paced development, deployment, and obsolescence management of infrastructure capabilities for U.S. Government contracts.
Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
