Description
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV in Crane, IN to test, troubleshoot and repair military avionic assemblies and cable/harnesses.
This position performs task assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions).
Primary Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Testing avionic assemblies to determine the failure mode and perform the steps to repair the failure.
Following specific layouts, procedures, drawings, or scientific diagrams to construct cable/harnesses.
Assisting in design modification of cable/harnesses when given specifications and/or drawings.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree in related discipline and two (2) years or more of related experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of test and troubleshoot to component level repair experience.
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, flow charts and use logical troubleshooting techniques.
Must have a basic understanding of electronic circuits, mechanical assembly and cable assembly.
Must have good communication skills, interface well with others.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
High attention to detail and quality.
Able to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks.
Able to keep work area clean and organized.
Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to take training to be certified to assemble and repair cables/harnesses.
Physical demands: While performing duties of this job, an employee is typically required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
DESIRED:
Soldering experience
2M certification preferred.
