About this job

The Senior Analyst, Logistics Planning role oversees all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement throughout the logistics network. This person will process, plan, and coordinate the delivery of shipments with the Fleet and 3PL teams and be a subject matter expert on all move types in the CarMax network. The Senior Analyst will lead all aspects of our logistics network planning.

What you will do - Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the logistics network to develop and execute recommendations for reducing freight costs, creating efficiencies, and improving speed of service.

  • Develop processes and planning tools to maximize efficiency across all moves in the CarMax network in a manner that increases service while reducing costs and lead times.

  • Develop and lead cross-functional partnerships between fleet, dedicated fleet and third-party carrier operations teams to develop and execute optimal routing solutions.

  • Create and approve network-wide transfer coverage plans to maximize efficiencies for all move types.

  • Proactively identify and execute on cost savings opportunities within the CarMax network, including running cost/benefit analyses and leading cross-functional teams to implement changes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in logistics

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in CarMax logistics

  • High school diploma is required, some college or college degree is preferred

  • Experience with MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), OTM (Oracle Transportation Management, internet search engines and email systems is required

  • Demonstrates effective communication with both internal and external customers and across multiple layers of the organization

  • Must be available to work flexible shifts including early morning, evenings, and weekends

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Home Office and have a Hybrid work arrangement. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 1pm-10pm.
