Job Summary:

THE ROLE:

The Zero Waste Captain will help administer our sustainability programs to become a zero-waste venue through sorting and educating others. Partners with the Venue Sustainability Coordinator. Hours per week will vary depending on show schedule and business needs.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Team with others in an activity that has a real and immediate impact on zero-waste goals

  • Assist in the sorting process of all recycling, composting and landfill materials

  • Engage and encourage fans to participate in our sustainability programs

  • Be an ambassador to help other crew members to understand their role in achieving the venue's sustainability goals and assist with employee engagement programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must present unexpired original document(s) establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States

  • A clear pre-employment criminal background check is required

  • Experience in zero waste events are a plus

  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50+ lbs., indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, helping and overseeing the sorting of materials

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Creative thinker, self-starter and problem solver

  • Complete in-person and computer module training as required

  • Reliable transportation is required

  • Must attend employee orientation and complete required online training modules
