Job Description:
A Sourc ing Specialist is responsible for the strategic aspects of sourcing, including vendor relationship management and business tools that aid in purchasing needed supplies. This person will handle ongoing or systemic issues with vendors, identify opportunities within sourcing strategies for value improvement, and work with the appropriate people to maintain the purchasing system data accurately.
To be successful in this role, the sourcing specialist should be able to work cross-functionally to develop processes and sourcing strategies to guide purchasing, and they should be able to seek out and develop relationships with new vendors.
This role will be working extensive ly with the Dent Wizard Key Operations business, and as such, it would be a benefit if the candidate brought knowledge and experience within the automobile key industry. This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain with dotted line to the VP of Key Operations. Company is headquartered out of St Louis, Mo metro area, however this position does have the option for remote work anywhere in the continental US.
Roles and Responsibilities
Optimize and implement sourcing strategies for aftermarket and OEM car keys including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and on-going purchasing direction
Analyze purchasing data to recommend strategic moves or areas of opportunity for the company
Propose and implement moves to improve total cost of goods sold
Develop and maintain vendor performance metrics
Own supplier relationships within the key operations
Manage R FQ s for market/commodity-based bulk purchases
Direct the management of information in purchasing systems including vendor information, approved product listings, supplier catalogs, and pricing
Supervise the Special-Order Keys coordinator
Travel - up to 3 5% of time
Strong c andidates will have:
Previous experience in sourcing
Previous experience in the automotive key industry
Strong negotiation skills
Understanding of sourcing strategies and contract negotiation
Ability to develop communications that help influence direction
Be comfortable in matrix reporting structure
