This position is for a Mission Engineering Lead for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Mission Engineering Lead must possess, and have successfully demonstrated, full lifecycle system engineering expertise for a satellite program, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the interpersonal skills. The Mission Engineering Lead will partner with the SAIC and Government leadership to effectively plan, organize and execute system engineering for the space program across the system life cycle.
The Mission Engineering Lead provides leadership and support to the customer's execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:
Role Responsibilities:
. Partner with the Govt Chief Engineer to advise Government Leadership on technical and programmatic decisions demonstrating expert system engineering skills and sound objective judgement
. Partner with Developer to analyze and recommend tailoring of system engineering readiness criteria and support successful execution of readiness events
. Oversee and advise multiple concurrent system engineering efforts associated with different missions each having unique objectives, CONOPS, orbits, and capabilities
. Oversee and advise 5-8 mission-specific SE staff consisting of SAIC and sub-contractor support
. Identify program level cost and time-saving approaches through the adoption of best practices
. Coordinate with Government program managers and mission leads to report contract performance and solidify future program plans
. Track and report progress at multiple levels of Contractor and Government leadership
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
. Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense Program Office best practices
. Bachelor's and 9 years of relevant experience; OR Masters and 7 years of relevant experience
. Government or Commercial experience as a system engineer for a satellite program
. Ability to lead, and be the primary point of contact, for one or more projects
. Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong briefing and writing skills
. Ability to communicate to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of programmatic and technical expertise
. Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision
