ACCOUNTANT

The accountant will be involved with all aspects of accounting for our Finance team and will be a key contributor in ensuring that our books and records are accurate and that our financial reporting is done in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reporting for each close period

  • Review fixed asset accounts to ensure proper account coding and compliance with SpaceX's capitalization policy

  • Maintain and reconcile monthly lease activity and compliance with ASC 842

  • Liaise directly with the finance and purchasing organizations to obtain fixed asset/lease support

  • Assist with the testing of system implementations and migrations

  • Analyze financial data and research variances

  • Maintain account reconciliations and provide tax support

  • Respond to requests from internal departments and external auditors

  • Research technical accounting issues as requested

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business

  • 1+ years of professional or internship experience in an accounting role

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP accounting systems

  • Public accounting experience

  • Active CPA license

  • Experience with SQL

  • Ability to analyze a high volume of transactions and data

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in the organization

  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
