ACCOUNTANT
The accountant will be involved with all aspects of accounting for our Finance team and will be a key contributor in ensuring that our books and records are accurate and that our financial reporting is done in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reporting for each close period
Review fixed asset accounts to ensure proper account coding and compliance with SpaceX's capitalization policy
Maintain and reconcile monthly lease activity and compliance with ASC 842
Liaise directly with the finance and purchasing organizations to obtain fixed asset/lease support
Assist with the testing of system implementations and migrations
Analyze financial data and research variances
Maintain account reconciliations and provide tax support
Respond to requests from internal departments and external auditors
Research technical accounting issues as requested
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business
1+ years of professional or internship experience in an accounting role
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP accounting systems
Public accounting experience
Active CPA license
Experience with SQL
Ability to analyze a high volume of transactions and data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in the organization
Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
