Description: This position in the Lockheed Martin Intern Academy will participate in rotations on 21st century security critical skills assignments in a 21CS domain program across the Lockheed Martin enterprise. As a Lockheed Martin Intern Academy intern, the candidate will be expected to complete 2 rotational assignments to include approximately 320 hours of summer practicum experience within a BA program (activities in one physical location per academic year); approximately 80 hours of training and instruction during the summer internship, and a total of 10 hours of training during the academic year. Candidates will have the option to support recruitment efforts as an intern ambassador for a total of 10 hours during the academic year.
In this role, you will:
- Evaluate systems and designs to determine cybersecurity characteristics.
- Identify and conduct cybersecurity testing and risk analysis at the system and component level.
- Communicate assessment results.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of:
- General understanding of system and component functionality.
- Familiar with cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience in testing environment.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a summer 2025 AI/Machine Learning Engineering Intern. In this role, you will work on a cross-functional team alongside research engineers, data scientists, software developers, physicists, and mathematicians using cutting edge AI/ML tools and techniques to solve some of the hardest problems in Space - all in support of our national security.
The successful candidate will have experience with and/or knowledge of: AI/ML, Deep Learning, or Computer Vision, modern software development practices/languages, and a passion for math and science.
Basic Qualifications:
Holding or ability to obtain a security clearance
Enrolled in a second-year university undergraduate program (typically considered a sophomore) or finishing a two-year degree in a transfer program at an accredited community college
Demonstrated experience in STEM (Project Lead the Way, First Robotics, Girls Inc., Million Girls Moonshot, Girls Who Code, GitHub, certifications, special projects, etc.)
Basic university-level course work or exposure in any of the following engineering areas:
Software Engineering/ Computer Science
Hardware Engineering: Electrical or Mechanical
Cybersecurity
Data Analytics or Machine Learning or other AI based learning
Automation (ex: Data Automation, Robotics Automation)
Systems Engineering or Architecture
Desired Skills:
Strong interest in the defense industry and national security
Interest in pursuing coursework, training, and assignments in multiple engineering functional areas to expand interdisciplinary knowledge and systems thinking
Adaptable and willingness to stretch technically and learn new things
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
