Job Summary
Dominion Energy is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Scaffold Builder at our North Anna Power Station in Mineral, VA. The successful individual will build and remove scaffolding at the plant as needed.
Sample duties include the following:
Work at heights of 40+ feet while wearing a safety harness.
Determine the amount of scaffold material required.
Identify appropriate construction locations.
Transport scaffold material
Assist in regular scaffold inspections.
This position requires the use of safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection. Must be able to qualify to use a respirator.
The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.31 per hour
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to work at high elevations.
Must be able to wear a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
Must be able to work in Confined Spaces
Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
Must be able to work overtime, some mandatory, at various times during the year.
Must be able to pass all required training by an 80 percentile (training occurs over a two-year period)
Basic computer skills necessary
Radiological work is required year round.
The individual must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation pertaining to DMV, criminal history, verification of prior employment, and education records, and be eligible for receipt and retention of a nuclear clearance enabling access to our facilities.
The following qualifications are preferred:
Prefer 2 or more years of prior scaffold or carpentry experience.
Prefer two or more years nuclear and construction experience.
Ability to operate heavy equipment (Bobcats, forklifts, etc) is a plus.
Possession of a CDL Class B license is a plus.
