SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) Naval Messaging CB ISEA. The work will be conducted at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) San Diego, CA, Old Town Center. The SAIC Team provides a full range of engineering, technical support, management, and logistics services in support of the Messaging programs. Support of these systems includes technical support for installations, providing systems and software engineering, software development and infrastructure as code, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and testing of new baselines and/or new capability of messaging systems.
JOB DUTIES:
Support the analysis and engineering, system architecture, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, requirements, and network engineering of the implemented networks.
Candidate will provide systems administration expertise in the development, research of components, functionality, and schedules to provide recommendations to the customer.
Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
Perform testing of applications and messaging systems.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection.
Evaluates and reports on new technologies to enhance capabilities of the POR system.
Maintain and document lab systems, provide support for testing, and provide status of progress to the customer.
Candidates will have experience and familiarity with virtualization (VMWare) and MS environments and possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lean new technologies quickly.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more related experience. An additional four (4) years may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors.
Candidate should have strong computer and networking skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of current applicable military and commercial standards and specifications.
Aptitude to program in an administrative language, as well as prepare, test, and deploy scripts aimed at improving efficiencies or correcting problems.
Detailed understanding and knowledge of Network Security Components and Protocols for firewalls deployed at Operating System and Enterprise Level;
Knowledge of, and hands on experience implementing IT and Cyber Security best practices
Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to lockdown network equipment
Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word).
Excellent Communications Skills are imperative.
Naval Messaging application administration and operational experience desired.

Current CompTIA Security+ at a minimum.
Professional level vendor certifications such as Microsoft or LinuxTarget salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
