This position is responsible for overseeing, managing and leveraging parts of the life cycle of IT investments in infrastructure and systems-from defining and targeting the investment mix, to planning the portfolio structure and packaging, to communicating the portfolio plan and measuring results. This is a key role in the strategic planning process for the IT organization. Works with and advises these individuals and groups on how enterprise priorities link to technology investment, and the risks and benefits of specific portfolio activities. Works with the IT organization and other stakeholders to develop, prioritize the IT and business portfolio. Analyzes portfolio performance, and recommends changes in investment mix to achieve goals. Proactively identifies opportunities for improving IT portfolio performance to provide a competitive advantage to the business. Managing teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and control rather than development; short-term operational/tactical responsibilities.

Provides in-depth analysis of projects culminating with lessons learned for incorporation into future project plans.

Oversees throughput for encounter processing acting as liaison between the customer and Magellan IT teams.
Oversee and act in review board fashion for reports delivered from Magellan to the customer.

Shares best practices throughout IT.

Coaches and mentors IT and Business staff in lean/Agile methods.
Drives servant leadership and coaches other IT Project Managers on this quality.
Empowers the teams to be self-organizing.
Empowers the teams and stakeholders to make decisions.
Measures and reports progress frequently using agile metrics.
Creates Product Roadmap and Release Plan in partnership with POs and IMs.
Coaches and leads coordinating practices in Agile methods such as Release Planning, Iteration Planning, Grooming etc.
Coaches and assists Product Owners in prioritization, 3-Amigo Reviews and other PO activities.
Leads and facilitates Scrum of Scrums with related projects/teams.
Traditional:
Coaches IT PMs in developing and maintaining project charters, detailed project plans, weekly status updates and problem resolution.
Coaches IT PMs in creation and maintenance of WBS, RACI, Stakeholder Register and detailed Project Management plan.
Coaches IT PMs in management of dependencies across projects.
Coaches IT PMs in performing Root Cause Analysis.
Develops and leads the establishment and facilitation of internal IT project management processes and tools (i.e. critical path tracking, contingency planning, operational workflow documentation/refinement.)

10+ years of experience in Project Management and leading large project teams through the development and support of applications. Broader experience across IT or across different industries (for external hires) is a must.
