Role Summary
Coordinate and supervise daily transportation functions pertaining to safety andDOT compliance for CDL - A Tractor Trailer driversKey Responsibilities
Review daily record of duty status for hours of service violations, falsifications and form and manner errors.
Propose edits to daily record as needed and track individual driver performance relative to compliance with all FMCSA regulations.
Submit all documentation timely to Corporate Compliance of all ELD units
Conduct coaching and training on driver drive cam events
Consult and train drivers on DOT regulations
Issue coaching and counseling to drivers to achieve regulatory compliance and a culture of safety.
Conduct post accident safety investigations
Assist in new hire safety training for both drivers and yard jockeys
Maintain department Safety boards and work with local Safety Manager on projects and/or duties as assigned
Conduct yard and fuel island inspections as directed
Conduct yard safety observations for yard jockeys
Ensure driver qualifications are current to include license and DOT physical renewals, self certifications are complete
Ensure DOT randoms are completed timely and accurately
Ensure Roadside inspections are handled per company and DOT regulations
Ensure all post accident paperwork and accident reports are accurately filled out and scanned appropriately and timely
Install and maintain all Portable ELD devices. Work with Vendor for repair.
Track, monitor, and update department safety procedures, drug safety program, and driver qualifications files.
Actively participate in quarterly safety meetings. Recommend topics for agenda based on performance metrics, observations and accident investigations.
Incidents must be reported promptly to the direct supervisor.

Education/Experience
Education - High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
3+ years of experience working directly with commercial drivers
CDL Class A endorsement preferred
Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service
Must work in a safe and effective manner
Timely and regular attendance is required.
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.)
Read, write, perform basic math computations, identify, and verify numbers
Work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
Work in a collaborative team environment and partner across departments
Must be able to interact courteously and tactfully with managers, co-workers, customers and/or vendors, as well as drivers, to positively affect productivity and morale
Physical Demands/Equipment
Must be able to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Must be able to sit on an almost continual basis and frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift one's own body weight in a variety of environments, including but not limited to office, warehouse, outdoors, commercial vehicles
Occasional need to go into environments that have temperatures of below zero degrees.
Frequent to continual usage of keyboard and monitor
Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toe protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $55,000.00.
