CNC Operator (Starship) - Temporary (Night Shift) at SpaceX

CNC OPERATOR - TEMPORARY (NIGHT SHIFT)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a CNC machine

• Assemble basic cutting tools

• Use a dial indicator to indicate work

• Set basic tools lengths

• Read basic blue prints

• Use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, thread gauges and indicators

• Run complex, tight tolerance parts, and various materials

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

• LENGTH OF POSITION: 6 months

• LOCATION: Brownsville, TX

• SHIFT: Night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate

• 1+ years of experience working with CNC machines

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of CNC experience

• Experience with Renishaw inspection and probing software

• Knowledge of Siemens controllers

• Good mechanical aptitude

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to work the night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM), overtime, and weekends as needed

• Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum

• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces

• Comfortable with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, and using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, and exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
