This position provides expert-level support to employees and leaders on a variety of employment-related concerns, questions, and issues. Conducts investigations that are complex in scope and assists in the execution of the employee relations strategy. Consults leaders through employee relations issues end-to-end and develops both immediate resolutions and long-term prevention plans. Key Responsibilities: - Administers the corrective action process which includes leader consultation, review of documentation and delivery. - Provides consultation and responds to leaders and employees regarding employee relations topics and issues. - Conducts complex investigations related to risk management, physician conduct, EEOC, sexual harassment or other harassment allegation claims, hostile work environment, workplace violence, etc. - Administers the Drug & Alcohol policy. - Responds to unemployment claims and represents Essentia in unemployment hearings. - Facilitates and implements layoff/reduction in force process in collaboration with HR Business Partners and Labor Relations as applicable. - Partners with Employee Health on worker's compensation issues. - May train leaders on policies or Employee Relations best practices. - Provides mentorship and consultation to Employee Relations Specialists. - Partners with leadership regarding policy interpretation and ensuring that policies are updated and current. Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years employee relations experience, including leading complex investigations. - Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required with a preference in business administration, human resource management or related field.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

No certification/licensure required.
