Responsibilities Serves as the Store Worker (Forklift Operator) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. Incumbent works in one or more of the departments within the store and performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying, and maintaining stock levels of resale items. Position responsibilities include: Perform a variety of duties involved in receive, handle, mark, prepare, display, and maintain the stock of resale items. Regular and recurring operation of a forklift and may at store manager's discretion, include order writing tasks. Determine the amount of shelf space to be used for various items within a department and estimates the space requirements for new items or increased quantities. Receive supplies, equipment, and perishable, semi-perishable, and non-perishable resale items in the receiving area of the Commissary. Verify shipments by checking the shipping documents, make proper notations on the documents, and identify any obvious spoilage, damage, overages, or shortages. Operate a computer system that marks prices, calculates prices, and determines weight of merchandise. Assist customers with product location Prepare, arrange, or stack items together for safety and neatness; rotate old stock. Operate a forklift.
