Position:Delivery Driver
Reports to: Store Manager
FLSA status: Non-exempt
General Function
Our company is currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Delivery Driver and Warehouse Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers at specific locations, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining our warehouse and ensuring proper adherence to our recycling program.
Essential Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)
Delivery Driver
Ensure inventory stock matches delivery requirements.
Follow set, scheduled route for daily deliveries.
Read maps or set GPS to determine and track daily route.
Ensure products are delivered in a timely manner.
Load and organize product inventory from warehouse into your vehicle and unload products in and out of truck as needed throughout the day.
Always keep vehicle organized, clean and tidy.
Make sure inventory matches manifest (accompanying shipping document).
Scan or write in confirmation of delivery upon arrival to recipient client.
Collect signature and/or payments at delivery locales.
Deliver goods to specific locations determined by clients.
Check in with stores on delivery progress as needed.
Maintain and organize all delivery paperwork and deliver it to the proper personnel at the end of each shift.
Refuel vehicle as needed.
Inspect delivery vehicle daily looking for anything problematic (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents etc.) and report any abnormalities.
Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while enroute, to supervisors.
Follow rules and regulations of the road at all times.
Follow all company and state enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading product.
Warehouse Coordinator
Ensure warehouse is maintained, organized, and clean
Responsible for the companies battery and bulb recycling program
Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklift
Prepare bulk orders for shipment
Receive inventory, organize, and disseminate for delivery
Qualifications
H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company's electronic retail and cross reference system; capable of adapting learning to incorporate new technology
Ability to make minor decisions and use some judgment within standardized procedures
Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus; general knowledge of customer service policies/procedures
Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects
Demonstrated technical aptitude and or technical experience desired
Experience using hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts a plus
Professional and pleasant disposition, able to give all clients a positive customer service experience
Candidate should be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator
Excellent time-management and organizational skills required
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to register and receive a TWIC card
Working Environment
The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.
This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear and lift up to 100 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 100 pounds.
The position also requires the employee to occasionally use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, and a company automobile.
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The level of noise in the working environment is moderate.
Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
