Demonstrates technical proficiency in multiple aspects of excavation and site grading as well as underground utilities for commercial, private, public and state contracts.Supervises crew members and plans/schedules staffing and equipment needsMay assist with deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, profit, scheduling complianceEnsures customer satisfaction in all customer and inspector relations/interactionsPlans and directs work for his or her crew and maximizes equipment utilizationCommunicates productivity metrics, quality standards and daily performance to crew members and supervisory staffConducts daily site production and safety meetings.Supervises hourly operations personnel including laborers, equipment operators and driversEnsures all elevations are correct for proper drainage and utility installationsFollows company plans to identify conditions and exposures, proper safety and personal protective equipment and accident investigation and reportingCoordinates and collaborates with other Field Managers, Superintendents and the customer to implement successful project plansProvides on the job training and assistance to crew members for assigned tasksMaintains performance documentation and provides input to salary and promotional recommendations.Administers disciplinary action for crew members and subcontractors as appropriate and consults with the Project Superintendent/Managers as needed for resolutionEncourages and promotes teamwork, motivation, people development and retentionPlans and directs work for his or her crew and maximizes equipment utilizationConducts daily site production and safety meetingsProjects are ongoing; full-timeLocations are within a 30-minute commute from Richmond, VA and surrounding areasRequirements:Adhere to all applicable safety procedures and policiesAbility to communicate in a productive manner with other team membersExperience with GPS systems for grading and underground utilitiesTransportation to and from locations as neededAbility to commit to a schedule with positive attendanceOSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferredAbility to pass background and drug screeningsRequired PPE will be providedMinimum of 5+ years of experience
