The position is responsible for the maintenance of material handling systems and equipment across campus (dock doors, wrap machines, compactors, power pallet jacks etc.), working with contractors and service providers, and managing parts inventory. While contractors perform the maintenance and repairs, this person would have the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and perform some basic service work. This position works alongside our refrigeration coordinator and electrical coordinator to provide coverage for our 24/7 facility.
What will I do?
Primary contact for service providers and contractors; monitor, coordinate and hold teams accountable for timely, successful completion of services
Manage food safety, human safety, and food defense processes with vendors; perform risk assessment and ensure vendor compliance of industrial safety procedures/practices (ex. EPA, OSHA); identify and eliminate issues while supporting best practices
Provide feedback to Operations teams and vendor partners; complete annual contractor performance reviews
Operate industrial refrigeration systems, HVAC, and electrical generators; manage all related vendor service work
Use independent decision making to manage maintenance IT systems and controls for the campus; communicate systems work that impact operations
Work cross functionally with Construction and Engineering teams
Required Qualifications
10 or more years experience with refrigeration, mechanical, electrical equipment/systems in a maintenance environment
Mechanical experience; ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems
Experience with industrial utilities; coordinating contractors and service providers
Experience with layout and design techniques, applicable codes, regulations, and maintenance operations standards
Certification in PSM / PSA
Proficient with laptop, building management systems, industrial and manufacturer's PLC based control systems and hierarchy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with food safety or food efense practices in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Associates degree
