Job Title: Dishroom Lead
Location: Vallejo, CA
Job Type: Full-Time temp to hire. Monday - Friday 7am-330pm
Pay: $17.92/hr
Reports To: Kitchen Manager/Head Chef
Job Summary: The Dishroom Lead is responsible for overseeing the dishwashing and sanitation processes within the kitchen environment. This role includes managing dishroom staff, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Dishroom Lead plays a critical role in supporting kitchen operations and upholding high standards of hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
Organize Dishroom Operations: Manage the flow of dirty dishes, ensure proper sorting, and maintain organized storage of clean items.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and report needs to the Kitchen Manager; assist with ordering supplies as necessary.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring the dishroom is a safe environment for all staff.
Assist in Kitchen Operations: Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and timely dish availability.
Quality Control: Conduct regular checks to maintain cleanliness and organization within the dishroom.
Handle Equipment: Operate dishwashing machinery and perform basic maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy items no more than 50%.
Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
