GENERAL FUNCTION
To ensure the automated equipment readiness, safety, and housekeeping procedures are followed. The position is the in-house resource for the operation, maintenance and repair of the automations on the manufacturing floor. Main duties will include working with the automation team to help with the building of new equipment, programming of new models, automation systems setup and perform any and all tasks necessary to maximize efficiency and uptime of the automations on the floor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the automation team to build new equipment
Provide electrical/mechanical installation support and technical expertise during new project launches.
Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, repair, and rebuild automated equipment.
Train process tech and tech supports team on use and maintenance of new equipment
Create new program for the automation equipment on the production floor (robot toolpath)
Get familiar with the equipment on the floor (automated and not) and help setting up tools and equipment to be ready for production.
Perform and record PM activity
Communicate automation and machine set up status to leads, material handlers, supervisors and process technicians from other shifts.
Provide accurate feedback to the automation team and tech support on the equipment status
Quickly responds to the needs of supervisors, leads, material handlers and machine operators.
Engage in project planning to identify automation opportunities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
ASEE or Equivalent
Bilingual Spanish/English
3+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment
Knowledge of robotics/HMI/PLC
Knowledge of sensors and pneumatic circuits. Ability to read elt./pneumatic diagram
Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools (wrenches, hole tapping, manual drilling)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Problem solving skills. Ability to get and analyze information and use them on the field
Ability to read, understand and communicate in English language to ensure adherence to documented procedures, safety rules and current specifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering degree
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control
Knowledge of CAD software and ability to design with Solidwork/Creo
Experience with robotics simulator
Experience with ABB and Denso robots
Experience with vision systems
