Do you have a passion to get humans back to the moon and eventually to Mars? Helping to lead and mentor GN&C engineers, you will support the development, test and verification of the ORION capsule that will take humans to the Moon, Mars and beyond. This is a rare opportunity for you to help NASA meet the challenges of the first step in achieving that -long-term presence at the Moon- and the stepping point for human missions to Mars with Gateway.
The GN&C engineer will play a key role in the design, development, integration and test of the GN&C subsystem for the ORION spacecraft. You will work with the GN&C team along with other discipline subsystem engineers in a collaborate team environment through the system design, integration and test phases culminating with mission success.
Given the Artemis II schedule, ORION experience is required for this position. Having been through the entire life cycle of a space program from Requirements through Integration & Test and Verification is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
- Possess an academic background or industry experience with spacecraft dynamics, spacecraft environments, GN&C sensors/actuators, and control system design and analysis
- Experience with MATLAB/SIMULINK and C++
- Experience supporting Mission Operations for Spacecraft, telemetry analysis, flight anomaly investigation
- Direct experience interacting with NASA, specifically the ORION program
- A US Citizenship is required for this position
Desired Skills:
- Experience using Matlab/Simulink to auto-code real-time embedded flight software
- Familiarity with the GN&C Hardware Suite for Manned Flight
- Experience with the design and analysis on-orbit attitude control for both coast (RCS) and powered (TVC) phases of flight for spacecraft.
- Experience in the entire life cycle of a spacecraft program spanning proposal development through mission operations
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $76,600 - $146,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
