Job Summary

This is an analyst role within the Gas Transmission & Storage (GT&S) Technical Excellence & Innovation Center (TEIC) organizationally reporting through the Pipeline Integrity group. The working location for this role is flexible and can be filled in either Columbia, SC or Bridgeport, WV.

The TEIC Analyst will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the GT&S footprint to facilitate the standardization and deployment of technical standards related to operations, engineering, project execution and commercial business which impact all employees of GT&S. These technical standards include, but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Procedures (WPs), Design & Construction Standards, Safety Procedures, etc.

This position will support the following tasks, as well as ad hoc requests provided by the Manager, Pipeline Integrity and the Director, Pipeline Safety Management Systems.

  • Support and advise on standardized technical standards as described above & drive efficiencies;

  • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Projects or Commercial groups to understand needs and provide guidance and support to ensure that functions and technical standards as defined above are standardized, effective, efficient and accurate for shared services and GIG operating units;

  • Schedule and participate in SME and stakeholder meetings addressing changes in technical procedures, etc.; act as scribe of proposed changes/modifications and track action items.

  • Provide input into developing dashboards and ad hoc reporting on TEIC goal;

  • Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to develop, integrate and implement technical procedures ;

  • Update stakeholders and SMEs on status of technical procedures implementation;

  • Work with analyst(s) in Pipeline Integrity in the coordination of approvals for technical procedures and the publication thereof.

Areas of specialization:

  • Utilize technical writing skills to ensure consistency of technical procedures layout, language and formatting.

  • Suggest formatting changes that will maximize efficiency in the utilization of procedures across the various platforms such as Oracle Web Content, field copies, etc.

  • Develop dashboards and keep reporting dashboards up-to-date and report to leadership on the standards management efforts;

  • Analyze data from standards feedback surveys and provide recommendation for improvements to the standards management process

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:

At least 5 years professional experience in natural gas distribution and transmission. At least 3 years program management and project planning experience. Experience in program facilitation.

  • Knowledge of natural gas industry regulations and requirements

  • Experience with technical writing

  • Ability to manage large data sets and complex spreadsheets

  • Ability to present data in a clear, concise and articulate manner; skilled use of Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power)

  • Skills in Relationship management; excellent verbal and written communication; critical thinking and problem solving; listening; time management, planning and organizing.

  • Abilities in: Work independently; effective decision-making; adapt to changing priorities; advise leadership on program development and implementation

Education Requirements

Education Level:

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Disciplines: Preferred: Human Resources; Project Management; Training & Industrial Education
