This job spans a range of Satellite Payload Engineering activities in the dynamic NRO RADAR Systems Program Office (RSPO) supporting the Government customer in the acquisition of the next generation satellites. This position will primarily support the assembly, integration and test activities for the program. The job requires in depth knowledge of relevant satellite payloads and integration and test activities
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Government customer in managing and evaluating the Prime and Subcontractor performance in the delivery and integration of the satellite mission payloads
Maintain detailed insight to the assembly, integration and test of the satellite payloads and integration activities at the Prime and Subcontractor facilities
Assist the customer in understanding anomalies, root cause analysis and corrective actions including potential schedule and technical impacts
Review test plans and test results for requirements compliance and provide informed technical recommendations to the GPOC
Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the enterprise, system, subsystem level and then work with the Government enterprise and Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches
Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts
Track development issues, significant accomplishments and upcoming events and provide short weekly status updates, oral and in writing to the customer
Evaluate entrance and exit criteria for major program reviews (e.g Pre-Ship Review)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of experience
Master's Degree and 12 years of experience
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
