About the Role

Gap Inc. is looking for a Director of Organization Effectiveness. In this role, you will be responsible to oversee and/or manage projects that are aligned to the Global Finance Transformation - organization design and change management. Additionally, you will partner with business partners to help them develop their own organization design and change management skills.

What You'll Do

  • Organization Design: Lead and manage organization design projects with business leaders to improve business performance using consistent frameworks and methods. A successful candidate will balance being responsive to the customer with knowing when/how to -push back- to deliver a better organization design solution. They will need to be familiar with organization design methodologies (i.e., STAR Model) and has experience leading senior leaders through organization design projects.

  • Change Management: Be an active stakeholder in Gap Inc. Transformation projects - brand and enabling function with consistent frameworks and methods - measuring adoption and sustained behavior change. A successful candidate will be familiar with change management methodologies (i.e., ADKAR) and has experience leading senior leaders through the phases of change management.

  • Skill Building: Partner to build organization effectiveness skills in the HRBP community. A successful candidate will know how to assess skills and partner to develop skills in 1:1 or small groups to help HRBPs lead organization design work on their own.

Who You Are

Passion and curiosity for the business; understand the competitive landscape; strong business orientation, drive for results, and desire to win; Comfortable driving change and embracing innovation in face of ambiguity and complexity.

Experience in leading organization initiatives (e.g., Technology Implementation, Global Function/Business Unit design, Cross-functional design, etc.) - proven success influencing org. design outcomes with senior leaders.

Comfortable taking risks and embracing innovation: a risk-taker who can push the organization for new outcomes.

Continuous learner and possess an organizational savviness to build relationships across the company, understand the business needs and deliver results

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is a plus

Evaluate sometimes complex situations using multiple sources of information (internal and external sources)

Regularly influence leadership team decisions. Ability to inspire trust and followership in others through pragmatism, business acumen, ability to communicate clear rationale and active drive.
