Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Department Supervisor to join our TEAM! As the Department Supervisor, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as monitor equipment or processes and report problems to supervisor, including safety, quality, productivity, employee, and systems-related issues.
Primary Objective
Operates equipment as well as coordinates training of associates in functional areas such as press, kiln, glaze, sorting and clean up.
Major Function and Scope
Ensures operating procedures are followed and coordinates routine daily activities of department.
Follows Company operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor, including safety, quality, productivity, employee, and systems-related issues.
Transports, weighs, and mixes appropriate ingredients.
Load/unload machines.
Performs periodic checks on output.
Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
Supports a life-long learning environment, enhancing own skills as well as assisting in the development of other employees.
Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
High School diploma or equivalent
3 or more years' experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment (1 + years of experience if Leading Production Associates level 1 or 2).
Competencies
Good oral and written communications skills.
Good listening skills.
Ability to read and understand procedures in English.
