JMT's Highways Team is seeking a Program Manager to augment staff in range of program management services to meet the needs of the client. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating large-scale engineering programs. This position is a part time opportunity.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Monitoring and tracking monthly expenditures - Coordinating with Project Managers to maintain project budgets and notifying appropriate parties when budgets are close to being exhausted- Coordinating with Client Management - Coordinating preparation of annual Financial Plans and ensuring submittal to FHWA- Participating in project reviews - Responsible for updating management on funding- Prepare/maintaining status/briefing sheets for projects- Providing monthly status updates for projects- Preparing correspondences for signature - Providing project funding/budget guidance to project managers, designers, and support consultants- Reviewing and tracking project scopes, budget, costs, and schedules- Establishing and tracking performance measures for quality, cost, and on-time delivery
Required Skills
Successful candidate must understand contracts and budgets and pose strong written and verbal communication skills
Successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Required Experience
Eight years of experience in tracking and monitoring project budgets
Previous Program Management experience and previous experience with MDOT SHA's project development processes are desired
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
