Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.

Education Qualifications:

NP: Master's degree in nursing

PA: Bachelor's degree in a health/science-related field

PRACTICE SPECIFICS:

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. Work with a great team with a small town feel with a ton of specialties/resources right on site. We are also located close to Duluth, MN (right across the bridge) and can utilize those resources if needed. Close parking near the building, close knit team with emphasis on work/life balance.

  • Our Team consists of MD/Advanced Practitioner Teams physicians. We currently have 8 MD's and 8 Advanced Practice Providers. Typical model is 1 Advanced Practice Provider per 1 Physician with additional staff support of CMA's and RN's.

  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • Estimated Patients Per Day: 15-1 6 for 8 hour shifts

  • Possibility of one night per month or one to two Saturdays a year as needed (no Saturdays in the summer months)

  • This provider will have a mix of established patients and new patients.

  • Must be able to work independently, experience in Family Medicine preferred.

EDUCATION:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a registered nurse in Wisconsin Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Wisconsin Current certification in CPR. National certification, in applicable area. Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
