LabCorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Seattle, WA. The Lab Assistant position will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5am - 1:30pm
Pay Range: $20.60- $31.08

Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 24 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(K), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333 hours of sick leave for each hour of work).
Job Responsibilities:
Receive clinical specimens from client and prioritize orders as needed.
Accurately identify and verify patient information and testing ordered on each requisition received.
Determine that appropriate orders and samples are present.
Properly label, process and route specimens to testing departments or storage.
Accession specimens into computerized database and meet productivity metrics set forth by the department.
Push or pull cart throughout the lab, picking up samples to be expedited to appropriate testing benches.
Assist with receiving shipments from other laboratories, unpacking boxes, expediting time sensitive specimens to appropriate departments.
Resolve and document any problem specimens.
Potentially assist in training of staff on entry level tasks if deemed competent.
Always maintain a safe and clean work environment and conform to company safety guidelines and requirements.
Conform to established and new procedures and policies instituted by the company.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
No relative experience required; 1-2 years preferred
Previous medical or production experience is a plus
Excellent communication skills necessary to deal effectively with co-workers, clients, and hospital staff.
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Ability to accurately identify specimens
A willingness to work in fast paced, high-volume laboratory, with constant workflow from the beginning to the end of the shift.
Experience working in a team environment
Proficiency in typing, and the use of the 10-key preferred (MS Office).
Strong data entry and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Ability to pass a standardized color blind test
Rotate weekends when necessary
