Description
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to support classified and unclassified networks and systems. The Network Engineer (NE) performs tier-three transport support in accordance with the SOCOM Information Enterprise (SIE) Operational Order (OPORD). This position is based in Crystal City, VA.
The Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software
This Journeyman level position is responsible for planning, implementing, designing, analyzing, and maintaining layer 1 - layer 7 network infrastructure
Working in support of three letter agency's and DOD
Extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols("EIGRP, IPSEC, IP routing, VPN and IPSEC Tunneling)" and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required
Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance
Ensure proactive engagement in Incident Management process, working with cross-functional teams to minimize the impact of network service outages
Reviewing network standards and trends to identify and recommend operational improvements
Briefing senior leaders on network status, issues, and recommendation
Provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a Mathematics-intensive discipline, or a similar field and 5+ years of experience. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required, with SCI eligibility

All candidates must have obtained DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II as well as one or more of the following certifications:
- CCNP Collaboration
- CCNP Data Center
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCNP Security
- CCNP Service Provider
- CCIoT
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional
- Juniper Networks Certified Specialist
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
