This position manages the strategic direction of all elements of compensation for T-Mobile's technology and back-office organizations including design, development and execution of a rewards strategy that aligns to the organization's goals and objectives. This position serves as a proactive business partner and subject matter expert to the Human Resource partners and when necessary, converses with business leaders across the enterprise. This position oversees base pay, corporate bonus, peripheral programs such as one-time payments, leads the company compensation review and bonus cycle, customized in-business compensation programs, insight and analytics, pay equity and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The purpose of this position is to drive equitable, consistent, timely, and easy to understand compensation programs that maximize ROI and help align business goals with employee behaviors and optimize our ability to attract, retain and motivate talent.
What you'll do in your role.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management on compensation matters including variable incentive compensation design and administration, employee/manager education and communication.
Design and implement broad based and variable incentive compensation for T-Mobile client organizations that ensure competitiveness, effectiveness and organizational equity.
Facilitate final outcomes by providing detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations and expert advice.
Monitor the effectiveness of variable compensation programs, policies, guidelines and procedures.
Own design of compensation models driven by data analysis to measure the effectiveness and cost of current incentive plans, design/test the feasibility of different plan scenarios, put forth pros/cons, and provide recommendations to new plan designs as -needed basis.
Maintain in-depth understanding of all incentive plans across sales and service organizations and be able to effectively communicate rationale, strategy, and calculations
Own compensation administration implementation and data for client groups including job design and evaluation, job levels/ grades, competitive market review, pay analysis and investment forecasting
Partner closely with Business Strategy & Operations groups, Commission Operations, Fraud, Internal Risk & Finance Planning teams. Identify opportunities for process, systems or data automation and work alongside partners to bring ideas to life
Coordinate the launch and modification of plan communications, legal documentation, and administration among functional teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
Facilitate annual at-risk pay assessment for Board of Directors including annual review of variable incentive policies and practices. Serve as approving body for weekly exception review board.
Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
The experience you'll bring.
Bachelor's Degree: Business, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline.
10+ years of progressive experience leading end-to-end development & re-design of compensation plans, market study analysis and internal/external equity analysis.
Subject matter expertise and a minimum of 10-15 years of related experience in compensation management within wireless, sales, customer care & retail organizations.
10+ years of sales/incentive compensation management, process, and analysis.
Prior experience creating and administering effective variable incentive plans to drive business outcomes.
Proven ability to think strategically regarding vision and design of programs and bring creative solutions from data and business needs.
Ability to influence senior management; and work across all levels of an organization.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Collaborative business style to work effectively across the organization, with external trusted partners and employees.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High School Diploma or GED
T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law.
