Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens. Under direction operate and monitor enterprise servers and information systems which support all phases of business operations including merchandising sales distribution and financial management. Monitors and reacts according to procedures and abnormalities in environmental equipment of the data center. Monitors and reacts accordingly to fire and electrical systems in the data center. Monitors and controls physical access to the data center including providing escort as needed. Receives supervision from a designated supervisor who defines the objectives and priorities. Completed work is reviewed for conformity to deadlines and accepted practices based upon reports log notes and responses from the users. Maintains a functional and practical working knowledge of the current job scheduling tools. Maintain familiarity with the use of multisystem software to develop experience in the operation of the various computer applications processed in the data center. Mounts appropriate storage media. Supplies printers with appropriate forms and spacers. Control and maintain magnetic tape media disk library and backup storage. Operates standalone systems for the receipt and transmission of data as well as for backup functions. Maintain required operational input output control logs. Ensures the accuracy of the output prior to the release to the user. Document the various daily anomalies which are disseminated to upper level management and support personnel. Confer with software system engineering application programming personnel and equipment engineers on events that require a change of instruction or sequence of operations. May be required to lift andor move up to 20 pounds. Works holidays weekends as shift requires 24x7x365 operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Experience in a Windows environment and use of MS Office Products Outlook Word and Excel. Knowledgeable in basic media handling and print room functions. Familiarity in LinuxUNIX platforms is a plus. SUBSTITUTION EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Two academic years of study above the high school level may be substituted for both general and specialized experience. Of the education substituted for specialized experience 6 semester hours of education should include related subjects in the computer field. 36 weeks of study 20 classroom hours per week at a Technical School is comparable to 1 academic year above the high school level.
