As Store Design Manager, you will be responsible for upholding the Starbucks customer experience and brand design expectations while meeting budgets, schedules and operational requirements as well as working in close partnership with design peers, studio leadership and cross-functional teams.
As a Store Design Manager, outsourcing! you will...
- Support studio leadership in the execution of outsourcing design strategy for new stores and renovations as primary area of focus.
- Support studio leadership in developing and maintaining relationships with consultants supporting outsourcing to continuously improve capabilities across organizations.
- Lead management of outsourcing program at a regional level including but not limited to: contracting, pipeline, and scheduling in partnership with key cross-functional stakeholders.
Create store designs for portfolio of stores in a given region or format type. You will be able to independently create and manage work from concept to detailed design stage in accordance with the US, Canada and/or Licensed design studio strategy.
Create environments that are relevant to the customer and consistent with the brand responding to site features and formats, local context, customer, and community profile. Solutions will include but not limited to interior sites, free standing buildings, facades existing store renovations and alternative store formats.
Lead the production of schematic plans, design intent packages and construction drawings that clearly communicate the design direction to stakeholders, peers, cross-functional team, and external consultants.
Work with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that design processes, practices and programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
Support studio leadership with work group goals and organizational capability; role models effective studio collaboration.
Elevate studio design quality through effective mentoring and team engagement. You will be a key influencer in collaborative design review with consistent, thoughtful, and relevant feedback. You will mentor and support the team member for continued professional development
We'd love to hear from people with:
- 8-10 years of interior and architectural design experience in retail, hospitality, or restaurant design, working with design agencies and/or development organizations.
- Degree or diploma in the design discipline from a recognized educational institution.
- Demonstrated direct experience creating interior and architectural design concepts for a range of project sizes and varying complexity levels.
- Relevant experience leading design teams with decision-making authority and accountability, managing direct reports, budgets and coordinating external consultants.
