As a Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager at Optum, you will be charged with developing and Implementing processes to recover from a security event that disrupts its technology operations. With our deep knowledge in the field of IT recovery, you will train others and be key in the Development of an IT disaster recovery plan (DRP) that will define the organization objectives. And will help the organization resume operations quickly after a security event.

Primary Responsibilities:
Create a platform Backup and Restore Plan within 30 days of authorization from Government Director
Manage, operate, and maintain disaster recovery solutions, products, tool suites, configurations, and settings assuring platform availability and service continuity of authorized platforms
Manage and maintain disaster recovery documentation and version management of each platform
Ensure that the Back Up and Restore Plans include standard operating procedures, SLAs, action plans, accountability of ecosystem partners, sequence of events, process dependencies, leadership awareness and escalation procedures
Execute simulated disaster recovery exercises annually and provide:
Disaster Recovery Annual Simulation Report within five days of simulation
Back Up and Restore Plans to include compliance, gaps, and recommended remediations
PRE-DISASTER RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as primary point of contact (POC) for disaster recovery preparedness
Coordinate development, training and exercise of jurisdiction disaster recovery plan
Establish and maintain contacts and networks for disaster recovery resources and support systems
Promulgate principles and practices that further resiliency and sustainability in development and strategic planning initiatives
POST-DISASTER RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the creation and coordinate the activities of local recovery-dedicated and initiatives
Work with Leadership to develop a unified and accessible communication strategy
Participate in damage and impact assessments with other recovery partners
Organize recovery planning pro
Communicate recovery priorities to government leadership and other recovery stakeholders and supporters
Incorporate critical mitigation, resilience, sustainability and accessibility-building measures into the recovery plans and efforts
Lead the development of asset recovery plans that are publicly supported, actionable and feasible based on available funding and capacity
Work closely with the recovery leadership at all levels to ensure a well-coordinated
Develop and implement recovery progress measures and communicate adjustments and improvements to applicable stakeholders and authorities

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering management, or other engineering or technical discipline
8+ years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
10+ years' experience in disaster system recovery efforts across multiple SaaS PaaS products
Must Be PaaS Platform Certified Administrator (Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Appian, or Pega) and Certified in Data / Cloud Storage
Experience in creating, implementing, and managing disaster recovery programs
Proven ability to create documentation, processes, and procedures related to the position
Must have extensive experience in Data Recovery and Penetration Testing
Expert in DRP development, training, implementation and maintenance of plan components
At least three (3) years of experience leading disaster recovery efforts in the federal government workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to obtain and maintain a stability or determination of eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
All work must be conducted in the United States
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form
Must be able to conduct work and be available in VA communication channels during (EST business hours)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
