This position will provide thought leadership and be accountable to coordinate, implement, maintain and continually improve IT business operations. This role is responsible for aligning business with technology strategies, streamlining processes, maintaining efficient and high quality operations, and for IT financial management. This role will be responsible for aligning the portfolio of IT investments with the needs of the business, and will ensure the consolidated portfolio and overall technology organization delivers ongoing value through structured performance measurement. Ensures effective working relationships with vendors and third party providers, ensuring contracts are kept up to date and cost maintenance strategies are assessed and analyzed on a periodic basis. Coordinates, and implements strategies, plans, and tools for monitoring and continuous quality improvement using Lean Management Principles. Provides strategic planning and execution for projects and change efforts. This individual should be a visible leader both internal and external to Magellan.

Influence changes and system enhancements to business processes, policies, and infrastructure to deliver the most effective IT services.
Manage the selection, evaluation, contracting and integration of externally available hardware, software, and processes to deliver business solutions.
Direct and manage, through analysis, the planning, design, development, testing, installation and maintenance of support systems for both internal/external clients.
Select and build strong teams through formal training, diverse assignments, coaching, mentoring, and other team development techniques, along with regular individual and group meetings.
Develop tactical and strategic plans to satisfy technical business needs and new business proposals.
Manage and develop project cost estimates, benefits, justification and assessment of potential project risks.
Manage projects, staff, customer expectations and business priorities to achieve customer and business unit satisfaction.
Manage, plan and track all budgets and expenses.
Oversee vendor relationships and projects.
Direct and manage business process re-engineering associated with existing, developing and implementation of systems.
Develops and maintains strong, cooperative relationships with other IT services groups. Shares and establishes best practices experiences and opportunities throughout the organization.
Apply Agile development practices in delivery of transformational programs as required.

10+ years of experience in IT Business Operations and leading teams in managing technology operations. Must have 2+ years of experience leading teams.
Broader experience across IT or across different industries (for external hires) is a must. Should have moved across different departments within IT to gain a broader perspective of the business/industry.
Experience in health care, insurance or related field.
